2007 Overall Boat of the Year by Sailing World This boat is very easy to handle and can easily be sailed single handed or competively in regatta racing with just three people. It is faster than most boats of its size, racing competively with J-109's. Hull and mast is 1100 lbs and the keel is 1600 lbs representing a ballast ratio of 60:40, not dissimilar to the AC and RC 44 boats.

Hull #40 is very competitive and a one-design conforming boat. This boat has been actively racing in the Pacific Northwest in races ranging from regatta events to overnight 100 mile races.
