Waterfront Director

General Responsibilities
The Waterfront Director plans, develops, and carries out a comprehensive program of waterfront activities focused on activities to encourage member participation and services to members. The Waterfront Director oversees the operation of all aspects of sailing at St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club including maintenance of the club’s sailing fleet and support boats, direction of educational programs, and support for race and regatta committees and activities necessary to maintain GYA status. The Waterfront Director recommends an annual budget needed to support a comprehensive waterfront program.

Qualifications
US Sailing Level 1 instructor certification, first aid and CPR training from American Red Cross. Should have a high degree of knowledge and experience in dinghy sailing and racing. Knowledgeable of boat care and maintenance. The position requires someone who is organized, self-motivated and capable of following through with program objectives and duties without direct supervision. The Waterfront Director must possess strong communication skills to interact with members including children and adults and have the ability to plan, organize and promote activities. Director should be able to teach, encourage, and challenge non-experience and experienced sailors in a fun filled atmosphere.

Instructors

Beach Point Yacht Club in Mamaroneck, NY is seeking current college racing sailors who are interested in coaching Jr. sailors this summer (mid June thru mid August). Beach Point sailors participate in regattas hosted by the JSA of Long Island Sound and other regional events in Optimists and Lasers.

We are seeking instructors who has a passion for sailing, a high level of enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

In addition to these specific requirements, you have to be an optimistic, creative problem solver with a sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to be highly responsive to our Customers.  A friendly, upbeat personality and engaging telephone manner will be essential to success.

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years inside sales experience required.  Experience selling to Industrial and/or Marine distributors preferred.
