One World Redux The malaprops that have come to characterize the One World Challenge may well be its doom as an unintended consequence of the same judgmental shortcomings that have plagued the campaign from its inception. These types of mistakes, one may conclude, make a flow-chart of Craig McCaw's wealth look like a roller coaster ride. By taking on someone with an intimate and documented knowledge of the inner workings of the syndicate (Sean Reeves aka "John Doe") and who possesses evidence of where the goodies were acquired to jump-start the design program from scratch, seems rather idiotic. Does McCaw need this type of extreme embarassment with everything else he has to deal with? This coming week's 'discussions' will be offered in an effort to avoid an embarassment and multi-million dollar loss that McCaw/Gilmour/Wright/etc. can ill-afford, but which the former billionaire's hired hands have wantonly created in what is clearly decision-making in a vacuum of logic. Those discussions will candidly address the consequences of what is seemingly not appreciated by the "delivery" that occured August 15, 2001 - hopefully Gilley and the gang will come to recognize the importance of first establishing, Protocol-wise, the necessity of acquiring only design materials with proven and appropriate provenance. Those efforts concluded, one will hear either nothing more about these events OR much ado about SOMEthing, both within the AC jurisdiction circles and in the Courts. The deposition testimony of current and former OWC personnel will make fine reading no doubt. Already there's hints of what's in the Pandora's Box the Seattle Challenge has started to pry open - - - and no U.S. court's gag order can possibly stop it, or its disqualifying consequences, once its out. One truly wonders whether those in charge of OneWorld will have the intelligence to comprehend what can possibly be gained (nothing), or what wil be lost (everything), by their misguided venture into vengeful blood-letting.
