Editorial They Wuz Robbed That Race #3 of the LVS was absolutely riveting was obvious to all that saw it. Perhaps one of the greatest matches seen - ever - it had the two heavyweight finalists truly going toe to doe in an exquisite display of AC racing that, for however briefly, reminds us all why we are such enthusiasts of this sport. Race #3 delivered in every way possible. Except one. The Judges screwed up. How in the hell they did not call a penalty, perhaps two, against Alnghi on the second run for failing to keep clear when luffed by Oracle is beyond me. The first luff by Oracle looked sufficient to warrant a penalty, and I think everyone was expecting it. When it didn't happen, Oracle knew they had them and went after them even harder. There appeared to be contact, but even without it, Alinghi did not keep clear. It was an egregious non-call, and I think it ultimately forced Oracle into their own foul. What a shame that in perhaps the biggest turning point of this series, the Judges sat on their hands and failed to deliver the right call. It likely screwed the series and most importantly, it really screwed Oracle.
