On It
A good podcast that we think you'll enjoy, courtesy of Nick von der Wense.

Cowboy up and and quit your damn bitchin!! Surfing on this rocket with 35+ other Mumm 30 teams is exactly what is happening right now in France.

I decided to give Scott Nixon from Quantum Sails a call for an
update on his trip to the sailing crazed country of France. Here is the podcast.

He just returned from competing in the 2006 Mumm 30 Europeans
with a team from the UK called Asterix. Asterix needed a fill in for tactician Chris Draper, who was busy winning the 49er worlds the same weekend. Scott managed to gel immediately with the team and pulled of the win. I wanted to hear from Scott what his experience was, what his impressions of the upcoming Tour de France of sailing named the Tour Voille were, and to hear his comparison of competing in the Mumm 30 and Farr 40 class, where Scott calls tactics on the Annapolis, MD based Ramrod.

The last time I wrote SA about Mumm 30's was after recovering from
similar to above death rolls and bow burying in Key Wierdo. We ran and then sold our boat from a classified ad on SA, producing a small bag of cash after selling Turbo Duck to a new owner in CT. The Duck crew are the proud owner of the late great Dave Ovington's personally built Mumm 30 #683. I managed to dislocate my shoulder (again) and tweak my neck sailing Lasers and have consequently watched from the sidelines as the Mumm 30 & Farr 40 Classes build toward state side World Championships. Since the Mumm 30 bunch thought it wonderful that I was watching instead of sailing, I got sucked into race reporting. and creating a regatta audio file, thus the "Racer Chaser" podcast on Itunes.com, podcastalley.com and the class website. Because I have not been able to sail, I have been aimlessly wandering around on power boats, wearing regatta T-shirts to events I don't sail in, and crashing the post race part hoping to find the keg and some of the sailors to tell me the story of the day.

This podcast has become my positive creative outlet for facing a long
period without being able to get on the water. I hope you enjoy the
content, and the spirit of the whole thing. Picture courtesy Jean-Marie Liot
