Conflicted?
Gunwharf Quays is the premier marina in the UK from which a lot (most) high profile sailing events are launched from. It services both Portsmouth and Gosport. Dee Caffari's record attempt started from there on 20th November (it is also her home port) and after a projected 180 days at sea, will be barred from arriving there because Volvo has block booked the venue for their stopover!!! Now it may not be entirely VOR's fault but more likely some baffoon managing Gunwharf Quays affairs. Nonetheless VOR's PR dept will certainly be aware of this and I think they could be more forthcoming with an invite to the girl

Arrangements have had to be made for a homecoming in Southampton's Ocean Village (which is currently under partial reconstruction).

Kinda ironic when you consider that both the Aviva attempt and the VOR began within a week of one another. There was a cross over - whilst the VOR fleet were in New Zealand, Dee was down south in the ice!
