The Rocket Returns

The first weekend in May will see us on the other side of the country racing and running a program of demo sails in upstate New York. We have interest from a couple of yacht clubs out there who are looking for a stable and fast performance racer than can be competitively sailed by a variety of crew ranging from juniors to older and more experienced club members. We will be delivering a boat here as well which will be going to New Jersey afterwards. The target dates for New York are the 12th, 13th and 14th of May, so again, please let us know if anyone wants to meet up for a sail.

Back at home we've seen a number of changes. We are moving into our brand new and larger production facility on the 1st of May. We have also changed the production method building the new Rockets using resin infusion. This is a huge improvement resulting in a stiffer, stronger and better built boat. The Strictly Sail Pacific show boat is resin infused and is fantastic.

On the One Design front we will be launching our OD association very soon and will have the rules, class constitution and website ready for viewing. Existing and pending owner feedback has been very positive with a couple of groups seeing strong OD fleet potential in their areas. We are working hard to support these groups as interest in OD fleets starts to take shape and look forward to talking to others about the OD potential of the Rocket in their sailing areas.

Our primary target market for the Rocket 22 is the experienced weekend warrior who still has a need for speed and wants a boat that is stable, manageable and fast. The Rocket was specifically designed for this market and the response has been great. Last year, our first year in production, we sold more Rockets than we projected and today our order book and sales pipeline is growing with strong interest from both from individual and club buyers.

As anyone who has sailed a Rocket knows, the boat amazes with its acceleration and pure sailing abilities. Upwind and downwind, with a symmetrical or asymmetrical kite, the Rocket 22 is all about speed, stability and fun, constantly reminding you of why you sail. If you haven't seen the Rocket yet hopefully we'll get an opportunity to meet you soon at a show or racing event. If you would like us to come to your area then please be sure to let us know. Either way, we look forward to meeting more folks this year and getting the Rocket out on the water across the country.
