The 2006 World Games Crashathon

Crazy windy and rainy conditions was the call this morning at the World Sailing Games here in lake Neusiedl see in Austria. The race committee sent out the RS:X Olympic windsurfing Gold Men and the Women, as well as the laser and Hobie tiger. Just happened to snap a few shots of the Hobies between rain squalls but blood funny any way. Mitch Booth/Herbert Dercksen(NED) had a shocker yesterday, But found some legs today rounding in the number one slot, early in race one. But this was short lived, when by Darren Bundock/Glen Ashby(AUS) using a superior high wind boat handling chose to dominate in the 25 to 35 knots of wind. Not as lucky was Jojo Polger(GER), who had to be rushed to hospital with a suspected broken ankle. Bundy and Gashby went on to win both races today, Mitch and Herbie, scoring two seconds. Everybody else switched on survival mode. Some not as lucky as others.
