Inshore, Offshore, One Design, a 30ft Trimaran Revolution Faster. Lighter.
Stronger. Higher - The One Design 930 kgs fully carbon trimaran SeaCart
30, introduced 2005 by Oceanlake Marine, was made with the intention to
be the toughest one design 30ft trimaran to date. The project started
when founder Calle Hennix, who love ocean racing as well as One Design
excitement couldn't find a smaller boat for serious offshore racing than
the big and expensive ORMA 60 trimarans. He looked for a state of the
art boat that in modest breeze would pump up the adrenaline and give him
and the crew a blast. The experience from more than 25 years of international
racing, including Whitbread Round The World Race, Americas Cup and ORMA
60 trimarans was transferred into Marc Lombard design work. The result
is a boat who love big waves and strong winds offshore as well as inshore
Grand Prix racing, providing spectacular sailing experience for crews
and spectators. Yet she is a perfect step stone for sailors who are tired
of going dead slow and searching for a new dimension in sailing. She gives
the owner a lot of bang for the buck matching High Tech 60-90 feet monohullers
inshore as well as offshore! Hundreds of guests have sailed and raced the SeaCart 30 in Scandinavia where company sailing (hospitality events) are standard procedure in B2B relations. Two boats or more create a perfect 'self providing' event unit. She has got her own engine, large gear and dressing room below. Five minutes from dock to blasting around the bay. A captain and sometimes a deckhand, four to five guests make a perfect crew mix. She is ready for transportation on a trailer in 3 hours time and fits in a 40 foot container. She is a 'low running cost' workhorse ready for moneymaking business. If there is
interest we could without to much effort evolve a Single Hand version
of the SeaCart 30. Today there is no offshore training class in multihulls,
like the mono Minis or Class 40, before entering the larger multihull
offshore arena. A Single Handed version would fill a gap. It would be
an equipment based version; shorter mast, less sail area and number of
sails, autopilot, water ballast system, standing room in the cockpit etc,
just small changes from the original version. Come on sailors and sponsors,
here is a tested tool ready for action! |
