BUILD
New boats from Italy!

 |
I've seen
a growing interest about fast hard chined boat in sailingAnarchy, and
I designed two VERY fast boats of that type, made of wood-epoxy...the
little one (Protonio) is a 4,5 meters skiff that won the award for
the most beautiful wooden boat in La Rochelle (France) 2004 yacht show.
She's very narrow and not easy to sail (no stability at all, 0,56m
of waterline beam),but what a speed..even without wind! She's my boat.
The big one (StarTruc) is a "more serious" boat, 5,9 meters
lenght and only 260 kg of
displacement,
with a 110 kg bulb and a huge stability, a powerful square top mainsail
and little jib (no winch to trim the sheet), 1,5 m bowsprit and a gennaker.
She has an inverse bow (like Protonio) to look strange and cut the
waves,a lot of power in the stem to surf, a quite narrow waterline
but a big beam to use the crew weight and an enormous cockpit. She's
lighter than any other 6 meter sport boat (I think) but very stable,
She can surf upwind and the speed with gennaker is amazing! I'm now
building a quite bigger and faster sportboat, a 6,5 meter light and
powerful (tomorrow I'll take some photos), this time in fiberglass...
because wooden boats are strong, lightweight and certainly beatiful...
but it takes a long time to build it! I hope you're intersted in my
boats, and hope you like it! Write me if you need bigger photos or something
else, use things I wrote if it's ok..maybe cut it or correct it if
I did some mistakes (I'm italian) thank you and congratulations for
sailingAnarchy, it's very good.
Bye
